Brighton is a family oriented city located along Ontario’s County Road 2 corridor. Situated an hour and a half from Toronto, Brighton offers a mix of green space, heritage buildings and many different home types within the small community feel that the area offers.
Brighton was first settled in 1796 and started to see growth after the opening of a road between York and Kingston. In the 1880 manufacturing entered into Brighton, welcoming a higher population. Since that time, Brighton has continued to see strong growth, welcoming residents looking to take advantage of its fantastic set of local amenities in a waterfront community setting.
Brighton is home to a significant amount of older, low rise homes. The downtown core features homes that are more traditional, be it bungalows or two story brick designs, while pockets of the village has some beautifully restored century old homes. In recent years, developers have purchased pockets of land with an eye towards redevelopment, while some individuals have also purchased land and developed their own dream homes close to the water.
